(Undated) — Former Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke’s presidential campaign already has a lot of money in the bank.
O’Rourke raised more than six-million dollars online in the first 24 hours after he announced he’s running for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. That’s the most of any of the candidates who have launched their primary campaigns. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders raised just under six-million dollars in the first 24 hours of his campaign.
The 46-year-old O’Rourke’s been regarded as a rising star in the Democratic Party since he raised 80-million dollars when he lost the Texas Senate race to Republican incumbent Ted Cruz last November.
