(Dallas, TX) — The Dallas Mavericks’ Dirk Nowitzki is now the sixth-highest scorer in NBA history.
Nowitzki surpassed Wilt Chamberlain’s 31-thousand-419 points on Monday evening as the Mavs took on the New Orleans Pelicans at American Airlines Center. Fans gave Nowitzki a standing-O after his achievement. Nowitzki is also the first NBA player ever to play 21 years with the same franchise, so he’s a hometown favorite for Dallas fans.
The Mavs lost the game, 129-125.
