(Dallas, TX) — Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin is undergoing tests for throat cancer.
The 53-year-old former NFL star is being treated at UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital in Los Angeles and is asking for prayers. Irvin reported on social media that he’s been having ongoing throat problems for the past two months. His father died of throat cancer at age 51, and Irvin says he’s afraid he may now have come down with it.
As Irvin underwent treatment on Sunday and Monday, doctors performed a biopsy in an effort to diagnose the problem.
