(Parker County, Tx) – An Austin man has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing his girlfriend on the side of I-20 in Parker County.

It happened just before 5:00 Tuesday afternoon.  The Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Stephen Joshua Martinez was arrested shortly after he called 911 to say he’d shot someone and that he and the victim were sitting beside a pick-up along the interstate in western Parker County.  DPS Troopers found Martinez, a 9mm handgun and the victim, 24-year-old Michelle Nicole Steinman-Davis from Austin, in a ditch on Old Highway 80 in Millsap, near the I-20 South service road.  Davis had been shot several times and was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Martinez is in the Parker County jail charged with Murder.  Investigators say Martinez has not given a reason as to why he shot Davis.
