(Glen Rose, Tx.) – The Somervell County Sheriff is calling for a walk to remember fallen officers from three North Texas Counties.
The walk set for Saturday, April 27th was originally started in honor of Game Warden Teyran “Ty” Patterson, who died in 2007 while trying to recover the body of a drowning victim from a river in Somervell County.
Last year’s walk was 13 miles through Somervell County and included members of the Sheriff’s Office and Patterson’s fellow game wardens.
This year, Somervell County Sheriff Alan West has invited the sheriff’s departments in Hood and Johnson Counties to join in the 15 mile the walk that starts at the Hood County line then goes through Somervell, ending at the Johnson County line. Over the years, Hood County has lost 3 deputies and Johnson County two officers in the line of duty.
