(Washington, DC) — Texas is home to one of six measles outbreaks that are being monitored by the Centers for Disease Control across the country.
One case was reported in Tarrant County. The CDC says just this year there have been more than 300 confirmed cases of measles in 15 states. In addition to Texas, the other states experiencing outbreaks are Illinois, California, Washington state, and two in New York.
Those cases have been linked to travelers who brought the disease back from countries such as Israel and Ukraine. The CDC says most people who get measles are unvaccinated.
