DPS Searching For Driver In Fatal Hood County Hit & Run

(Granbury, Tx.)  – Hood County authorities are looking for a driver that left the scene of a fatal hit and run early Sunday morning.

The Department of Public Safety says it happened about 3:30 am on Highway 377 West of Cresson, when two motorcycles travelling westbound collided with each other during heavy fog conditions.  Both riders were ejected off the bikes.  A 27-year-old Granbury man landed in the roadway and was struck by a passing pick-up truck.  Coy Rohde was pronounced dead at the scene.  The other motorcyclist, a 26-year-old Weatherford man was taken to the hospital with only minor injuries.

Investigators say the pick-up that hit Rohde did not stop and they are calling on the driver or any passengers in the truck to come forward.  Anyone with information is also asked to contact the DPS office in Granbury or the Hood County Sheriff’s Office.
