(Austin, TX) —  The Texas Senate’s “Born Alive” bill is now on its way to the House.

Two Democrats voted with Republicans on Tuesday to pass the bill.  Under the bill, doctors could be fined and sentenced to ten years in prison if they refuse to treat newborn survivors of failed abortions.

The state Senate passed a bill last week banning Texas cities and counties from giving tax dollars to Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers.
