Texas State Troopers To Carry NARCAN Kits

(Austin, TX) — Texas state troopers will now be carrying NARCAN kits to help with opioid overdoses.

Governor Greg Abbott announced today the kits will help save lives and protect people from the potentially lethal drug. DPS Director Steven McCraw says a trooper recently used NARCAN to save someone last week in Hidalgo County. Troopers will also receive tactical emergency training so they know how to use the medication which can block opioids effects.
