(Arlington, TX) —  Short-term rentals, such as Airbnb, are now banned in most of the Arlington city limits.

The city council on Tuesday approved an ordinance that allows short-term rental properties only within about a mile of the Entertainment District.  That area includes AT&T Stadium and Texas Live.  Owners of short-term rentals will be required to get a $500 annual permit, and will be limited to no more than 12 guests in a rental.

Rental owners say their livelihood is threatened, while neighbors have complained about noisy house parties at short-term rentals.
