Actor That Played J.R. Ewing’s Nemesis Dies

(Undated) – One of the only two stars to stay with the series “Dallas” for its entire 14-year run is dead.

Ken Kercheval played oil tycoon Cliff Barnes on the popular drama. He and star Larry Hagman were the only ones to appear for the length of the series. Barnes was the arch rival of Hagman’s J.R. Ewing character. Kercheval died Sunday at his hometown in Clinton, Indiana. He was 83.
