(Dallas, TX) —  More than a dozen local hospital emergency rooms are no longer in the network of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas.

ER doctors with Texas Health Resource don’t work for the hospitals, but for an outside contractor called Texas Medicine Resources.  Negotiations broke down between the insurance giant and the contractor, leaving 14 local ERs out of network, effective immediately.

The hospitals themselves, which include Texas Health Harris Methodist, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, and Texas Health Arlington Memorial, are still in the Blue Cross Blue Shield network, but their emergency rooms aren’t.
