(Lockhart, TX)  —  The trial gets underway today for a man charged with murdering a college student from North Texas.

Zuzu Verk, from Keller, was enrolled at Sul Ross State University in Alpine when she disappeared in late 2016.  Her body was found five months later.  Her boyfriend, Robert Fabian, is accused of killing her.  Fabian’s friend Chris Estrada has pleaded no contest to tampering with evidence.  His sentencing will take place after Fabian’s trial ends.  Fabian was given a change of venue.
