(Waxahachie, TX) —  Police have identified the man killed when he hit a power line while jumping rooftops in downtown Waxahachie as a local college student.

Officers found the body of 20-year-old Jedidiah Brookbank on the rooftop of a business near the Ellis County Courthouse late Sunday night.  Investigators say he was evidently jumping from one rooftop to another for fun when he was killed by high voltage wires.

Brookbank’s father identified him in a Facebook post, adding that he thought his son’s death was “a little foolish.” Brookbank was in his junior year at the Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie.
