(Keller, Tx) – More than a half dozen fire departments pitched in to fight an early morning house fire in Keller.
The 2-alarm blaze broke out before dawn at a large home on Crestwood Trail. No one was injured, however, two Keller firefighters became disoriented when heat and visibility conditions quickly changed while they were fighting the flames on the second floor of the home. Sadly, one of the family’s pets, a cat, did not make it out of the burning house. The family said they woke up to a loud bang and could smell the smoke.
The fire department says preliminary investigations indicate it was caused by a lightning strike.
