(Denton, TX) — Former Texas Rangers closer John Wetteland makes his first court appearance Monday on child sex charges.
Wetteland’s attorney entered a not guilty plea in Denton County saying the World Series MVP was betrayed by the person who accused him of sex abuse. He was arrested in January then indicted by a grand jury in March.
Wetteland won a World Series ring with the Yankees in 1996 before joining the Rangers in 1997.
