RideShare Driver Who Hit Arlington Bicycle Officer Turns Himself In

(Arlington, TX) — A driver who reportedly hit an Arlington bicycle police officer then took off early Sunday is now in custody.

Police say 37-year-old Steven Turner, turned himself in about 6 p.m. Monday at APD headquarters. Turner is accused of leaving the scene after running into the back of a bicycle officer working an off-duty job at AT&T Stadium for the Kaboo Music Festival. The officer, who was thrown from the bike, was treated and released at Medical City of Arlington Hospital.

Turner told investigators that Lyft had suspended him over the accident.
