(Austin, TX) — Texas breweries are another step closer to being allowed to sell beer to customers for take-home consumption.
The Texas Senate on Wednesday gave its unanimous support to an amendment to a bill about the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. The amendment would permit breweries to sell bottled or canned beer to customers, up to a case a day. Brew pubs are already allowed to sell beer to take home.
The House had previously approved beer to go. If it agrees to the Senate’s changes, the measure will go to Gov. Greg Abbott.
