(Cross Roads, TX) — A large rat snake is back in the wild after turning up at a North Texas Walmart.
A cart attendant working in the parking lot of a store on US 380 in the Denton County town of Cross Roads found the snake, which had worked its way into a group of shopping carts. The attendant screamed so loud a passing police officer pulled over to see what was up. A man known locally as the “Snake Charmer” was called upon to help remove the snake, which only bit him once during the process.
The Northeast Police Department posted pictures of the incident on Facebook. Police say recent heavy rains have flushed a lot of snakes out of their habitats.
