Weatherford Mourns Loss Of Beloved Educator And Businessman

(Weatherford, TX) — A respected businessman and retired teacher from Weatherford is dead as a result of a weekend traffic accident near Lubbock.

72-year-old Roger Grizzard was killed Saturday night when his SUV collided with a pickup on Highway 62 in Hockley County. His wife and adult son were hospitalized with serious injuries.

Grizzard was the owner of the Pizza Place in Weatherford and spent 21 years at teaching social studies, government, and economics at Weatherford High School. Grizzard was also involved in many civic organizations and served as a Weatherford College trustee and the Director of the Weatherford ISD Education Foundation.
