(Fort Worth, TX)  —  The Fort Worth Police Department has a new interim chief.

Ed Kraus was sworn in yesterday.  He replaces Chief Joel Fitzgerald, who was fired last week and is appealing his termination.  Kraus has spent nearly 30 years with the Fort Worth Police, part of it as assistant chief under Fitzgerald.

Kraus expects to hold the position a few months while the city looks for a permanent chief.
