(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth police say a man who looked like he had a gun when a SWAT officer shot and killed him was actually holding a flashlight.

Officers responded Saturday evening to a domestic disturbance on 6th Avenue.  When they arrived, a man later identified as Cody Seals pointed a rifle at them and then barricaded himself inside the home.  SWAT officers arrived and tried to persuade Seals to surrender.

When he came out the front door, he reportedly adopted a shooting stance and appeared to be aiming a rifle with a mounted lighting system.  One of the officers shot and killed him.
