(Granbury, Tx) – Two weeks ago, the Hood County Fire Marshal was put on paid leave pending an investigation by the Sheriff’s department for wrongdoing.  Now Ray Wilson is the former Fire Marshall.

The Hood County News reports Wilson and the County Commissioners have signed a separation agreement.  The Hood County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Wilson in late May and determined that while there were policy and contract violations, there were no criminal violations in his duties as Fire Marshal.  The allegations against Wilson included voided insurance checks, mishandling of fire equipment and the deletion of emails and files involving the deadly Tri-Chem plant explosion in March of 2018 in Cresson.

Under the terms of the agreement, neither the county nor Wilson will take legal action against the other or make disparaging statements about the other.  Also, Wilson’s status with State agencies will be filed as retired from Hood County with honorable discharge.
