(Arlington, TX) — A moment of silence was held before the Los Angeles Angels played the Texas Rangers in Arlington, with the team lined up outside the dugout as Tyler Skaggs was remembered.
The Rangers fell 9-4 to the mourning Angels one day after the death of the 27-year-old LA pitcher. His number 45 was painted in bright Angels red on the back of the Arlington mound. Mike Minor failed to make it through five innings for the first time since opening day, allowing three runs in a no-decision. Delino DeShields homered in defeat. Texas has lost three in a row.
The series between LA and Texas resumed, a day after Skaggs was found unresponsive in the team hotel in Southlake. Monday night’s game was postponed.
