(Lake Bridgeport, Tx) – The death of a 32-year-old Lake Bridgeport woman has officially been ruled a homicide, after her body was found in a burning home earlier this month.
The Wise County Sheriff’s Office says the fire was reported during the early morning hours of July 5th at a home on North Main Street in Lake Bridgeport. After the fire was put out, firefighters found Lauren Whitener dead inside a bedroom. An autopsy showed Whitener’s death was not a result of the fire, but that she was murdered before the fire was set.
The cause of her death has not been released because of the ongoing Capital Murder investigation. Investigators say they have developed some leads, but no arrest has been made yet.
