(Fort Worth, TX) — The longest-serving member of the Fort Worth ISD is stepping down.
Theophlous Aron Sims Sr announced his resignation on Tuesday. Dr. Sims had held his District Four position for more than 35 years, after he was elected in 1983. He also served the school board as its president, vice president, and secretary. An elementary school was named after him in 1989.
Sims’s term would have expired in 2021. His replacement has not yet been named.
