State Officials Clarify Hemp Legalization

After the governor signed a bill legalizing hemp production, some district attorney offices thought pot was also decriminalized. A letter signed by Governor Greg Abbott, along with the lieutenant governor and the state’s attorney general, is reminding law enforcement agencies of the difference between hemp and marijuana. They’re clarifying that low-level marijuana cases are not to be thrown out.
