Tarrant County Woman Aims To Appeal Illegal Voting Conviction

(Fort Worth, TX) — An appeals court is expected to set a date soon for oral arguments in a Tarrant County woman’s appeal of her illegal voting conviction.

At the time of the 2016 presidential election, Crystal Mason was on federal supervised release after doing time for tax fraud. Mason was convicted of casting a provisional ballot in the election. Her lawyers claim state law doesn’t bar a person on federal supervised release from voting.
