(Granbury, Tx) – To meet the needs of their growing district, Granbury ISD is expected to build a new elementary school.

According to the Hood County News, the likely location for the new campus will be property near H-E-B on Highway 377, where the school owns about 14 acres.  Although no formal plans have been announced yet, school board President Mark Jackson says the idea has been discussed publicly.  Jackson says plans are for the new elementary to open within 4 to 5 years and without a bond election for construction funds.

The district believes enrollment in Granbury will reach 7,500 students in the Fall of 2020.  Recently Hood County was designated as the ninth fastest growing in the U.S. by the Census Bureau.
