Fired FWPD Chief Wants His Job Back

(Fort Worth, TX) — Former Fort Worth Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald is still interested in getting his job back, and his lawyer is serving notice to city officials.

Attorney Stephen Kennedy has let the city know that the fired police chief will ask for his immediate reinstatement at a hearing on Thursday. The city manager says Fitzgerald was fired for a number of mistakes that undermined confidence in his leadership.

Kennedy says that if Fitzgerald is rehired, he’ll reopen a corruption investigation of city hall officials that he claims is what got him fired.
