(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth’s JPS Hospital plans to have five new elevators installed by next January.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation blamed brake failure for an elevator accident that seriously injured a nurse at the hospital earlier this year. After the mishap, JPS ended its contract with elevator service company TKE. The hospital entered into a five-year agreement with Southwest Elevator, which will do the work on the five refurbished elevators.
