20 State Entities In Texas Hit By Ransomware Attack

(Austin, TX) — A Texas agency is reporting that at least 20 of the state’s entities have been affected by a ransomware attack.

The Texas Department of Information Resources said in a statement they are providing resources and expertise to bring these entities back online. A ransomware attack is when someone takes over a computer system and won’t release it until the ransom is paid.

It’s not clear which state entities have been impacted by the attack.
