(Stephenville, Tx) – Erath County Commissioners will meet today to talk about whether or not to extend the county’s burn ban.

With dry conditions over the past several weeks and no rain in sight – Erath County Judge Alfonso Campos on Wednesday enacted an emergency seven-day burn ban.  The emergency order also includes restrictions on outdoor welding.    At today’s Commissioner’s Court meeting, Campos said they’ll discuss the possibility of extending the burn ban.

Campos told the Stephenville Empire Tribune “If we get some good rain, it will be lifted”.
