(Arlington, TX) — Arlington ISD and the Arlington police are working together to prevent school shootings.

The district and the police say they’ve been working on the new partnership for more than a year, long before Governor Greg Abbott signed school safety legislation this summer.  The goal of the new comprehensive threat assessment plan is to identify students who may be a danger to themselves or others.

Arlington ISD hopes the program will provide guidance for other school districts that are required to develop similar programs under the new state law.
