(Fort Worth, TX) —  A new government contract will be keeping Fort Worth-based Lockheed Martin Aeronautics busy.

The Department of Defense announced last week that it had rewarded Lockheed Martin a contract worth more than two-billion-dollars to provide spare parts for the F-35 Lightning-2 fighter jet.  The F-35 is primarily built at the company’s Fort Worth facility, and nearly a quarter of the new contract’s work will be done there, more than at any other plant.

The U.S. military, and other countries that bought the jet, will make use of the spare parts.
