Two Girls Drown In North Texas Apartment Pool

(Haltom City, TX) — Police in Haltom City are reporting the drowning deaths of two young sisters in an apartment complex swimming pool.

Officers and fire crews responded shortly before 7 p.m. to a possible drowning at the Springlake Apartment Complex on Springlake Parkway near the Denton Highway. The two girls, seven-year-old Ivana Mbouna and five-year-old Gavina Mbouna, had been pulled from the bottom of the pool by residents who were performing CPR on them.

Both girls later died at Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth.
