Denton County Deputy Fatally Shoots Armed Fugitive

(Sanger, TX) — The Denton County Sheriff’s office is investigating after one of its deputies fatally shot an armed fugitive on Monday evening.

Shortly before 6 p.m., deputies were serving felony warrants out of Florida on View Road in Sanger. The suspect reportedly jumped out a window and ran. When deputies chased him, he reportedly pulled a handgun and refused to drop it. A Denton County deputy then shot and killed the suspect.

The suspect’s name and the details of the warrants haven’t been released.
