(Granbury, Tx) – Former Granbury City Councilman Gary Couch was arrested Sunday morning on a charge of Boating While Intoxicated, at the same time authorities began searching Lake Granbury for a man who had gone overboard from his boat.

According to the Hood County News, a body believed to be that of the missing passenger, 45-year-old Donald Zimmerman, was found by search teams about 1 p.m. Monday.  Granbury Police say although the case is still under investigation, they have no reason to believe Zimmerman’s death was anything but an accidental drowning.  Four men were on the boat when Zimmerman somehow ended up in the water late Saturday night.

Couch, who’s 56, served two terms on the City Council before stepping down last November after opting not to seek another term.
