Fort Worth Mayor Promises Third Party Review Of FWPD

(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price says third party experts will be brought in to review the Fort Worth Police Department.

The experts will be from around the country in response to the shooting and killing of Atatiana Jefferson Saturday by a former officer. The city is still considering candidates for a police oversight board. Price says the shooting was “unjustified” and plans to meet privately with the Jefferson family.

Six people have been killed by gunfire from the Fort Worth police this year.
