(Granbury, Tx) – Hood County has accepted the Granbury school district’s offer to help the Sheriff’s Office take a bite out of crime.
The Hood County News reports the Commissioners Court has approved an interlocal agreement that will allow the sheriff’s department and the SWAT team to utilize Annie, a drug dog recently purchased by Granbury ISD. The German Shepherd they say will always have her same handler, whether she’s on official school business or moonlighting for county law enforcement. Annie is trained to be utilized in SWAT operations and for searches and suspect apprehensions.
The school district will loan Annie free of charge, and the Sheriff’s Office will “take on any responsibility” for her while she is assisting law enforcement.
