(Stephenville, Tx) – Tarleton State University plans to make all campuses completely tobacco free by Jan. 1, 2020.

Smoking is already banned on most parts of the Texas A&M University System schools, but this policy goes farther in banning cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco, snuff, e-cigarettes, nicotine pods and vape pens.

In a statement released Tuesday, Tarleton President Dr. James Hurley said the move is aimed at creating a “healthier educational environment.”
