Legal Dispute Over Funeral For Fort Worth Woman Killed By Officer

(Fort Worth, TX) — A court hearing is set for today to decide who gets to plan the funeral for the Fort Worth woman shot and killed by a police officer in her own home.

Atatiana Jefferson’s father, Marquis Jefferson, claimed his daughter’s aunt was among the people not allowing him to make funeral arrangements. The aunt, Venitta Body, said Jefferson is not the victim’s biological father and never had legal custody of her.

A temporary restraining order led to the cancellation of Saturday’s planned funeral.
