(Cleburne, Tx) – State health officials confirm a case of Pertussis, better known as the whooping cough, has been reported at Cleburne High School.
The patient is reportedly a 9th grader. The school district sent a letter home to parents earlier this month informing them of the exposure on campus along with information from the Texas Department of State Health Services. Pertussis is a respiratory tract virus that can easily spread to persons that have not been vaccinated. Cleburne school officials say they implemented the cleaning process throughout the high school campus.
They recommend that if your child becomes sick to be sure and tell the doctor they may have been exposed to Pertussis.
