(Weatherford, Tx) – Parker County Commissioners passed a resolution Monday declaring it a “Second Amendment sanctuary.”

It means the Sheriff’s Department doesn’t have to enforce any restrictions on citizen’s firearms, that they deem unconstitutional per the second amendment.   The resolution also states the county will not “authorize or appropriate government funds, resources, employees, agencies, contractors, buildings, detention centers, or offices for the purpose of enforcing law that unconstitutionally infringes on the right of people to keep and bear arms.”

It was modeled after a recently passed similar resolution in neighboring Hood County.  Parker is now the sixth county in Texas to declare itself a “Second Amendment sanctuary.”
