(Waxahachie, Tx) – We now know the cause of death for a 6-year-old Waxahachie boy who was the subject of an Amber Alert last August.

According to a report released Monday by Waxahachie police, little Phillip Oliver Wiedemann known as ‘Ollie”, died from the toxic effects of hydrogen sulfide gas released by chemicals found in his mother’s minivan.  The bodies of Ollie and his mother, Candace Harbin, were found dead in that minivan parked in a Waxahachie parking garage on Aug. 23rd.  Harbin had been accused of kidnapping her son.

An Ellis County Justice of the Peace says the child’s death has been ruled a homicide.  Harbin’s cause of death has not yet been released.
