(Fort Worth, TX) — A former Texas Ranger baseball star is facing charges in a child abuse case.
Josh Hamilton bonded out of jail Wednesday, just hours after turning himself in to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. The 38 year old Hamilton is charged with injury to a child with intentional bodily injury. The arrest record with the Keller Police Department reportedly shows the victim is his 14-year-old daughter. The teen claims in late September, her dad threw a water bottle at her, then carried her to a room, held her down and hit her legs and back.
In August, Hamilton was inducted into the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame. The Rangers’ organization issued a statement saying “The Texas Rangers take the issue of family violence very seriously,” and “We are aware of the situation…”
