(San Marcos, TX) — Researchers at Texas State University are studying the impact of social media on the user.
The project involves researchers from the Psychology and Communications departments who say the results of their study so far reveal that the phenomenon in humans known as Generalized Anxiety Disorder can be triggered by two behaviors of social media user. One is making comparisons of one’s self to others on social media who appear to be doing well and making posts on social media while under the influence of alcohol.
