(Houston, Tx) – Astros president Reid Ryan has been demoted within the organization to make room for owner Jim Crane’s son to take over the role.

Shortly after the move was announced Ryan’s father, Hall of Famer and former Texas Ranger Nolan Ryan, told Fox 26 of Houston on Thursday that he was leaving his role as executive adviser that he had held since 2014.  In a text to the station, Ryan wrote ”I will not be back with the club and will leave it at that”.
