Denton Lawyer Accused Firing Gun In Office Of Former Employer

(Denton, TX) — A Denton lawyer faces charges after reportedly trying to fire a gun inside the law office of her former employer.

Police say 53-year-old Petrina Thompson had recently lost her job at Martinez Legal in Denton. She reportedly went to the office on Friday with a gun.

A 911 caller claimed Thompson fired the gun inside the office before driving away, but officers found no shell casings or bullet holes when they investigated. Police arrested Thompson about a mile from the office, which is off South Carroll Boulevard just north of I-35.

She’s charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
