(Arlington, TX) — Fire investigators are saying the fire at Globe Life Field was likely caused by sparks from a welder on the job site.

The fire at the Texas Rangers’ new stadium started about 2:30 Saturday afternoon after sparks evidently ignited some nearby cardboard, wood and construction supplies.  The fire caused some damage, but no injuries were reported.

The construction company says the ballpark will still be ready to open in March.
